School's Out For Summer! Let’s Go To A…Theme Park!
Two words that bring fear to parents all over the world…school holidays. Having to juggle work, childcare and trying to stop yourself going insane over the school holiday period can be a bloody hard slog. On a brighter note, it’s also a wonderful time to get to spend some family time together and enjoy some sunshine (hopefully).
Here at And So To Family we thought we would put together a few ideas over the next few weeks of how you can make the most of your family time. I hope you’ll find something that suits your family and remember, you can always drink once they’ve finally gone to bed!
A great day out for all the family. It’s got the terrifying rollercoasters such as The Oblivion for the teen’s (and adults if you’re brave enough) then the wonderful CBeebies Land for the little ones. There is the new Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride because who doesn’t want to meet Ubercorn! There’s plenty of restaurants/food vendors to keep you fed and watered and you can even take your own snacks and have a picnic on the grounds to keep the cost down if you wish. It is one of the pricier options on the list but does make a great day out as a treat. Make it an overnight stay and visit the Alton Towers Water Park the day after if you’ve got the energy left!
Another highly rated UK theme park here. Mostly aimed at older children, teens and adults. Home to some of THE most terrifying rollercoasters such as SAW – The Ride. The world's first horror movie rollercoaster as you experience a ‘beyond vertical’ drop of 100 degrees from a height of 100ft. Definitely not one for those of you with a fear of heights. Check out the full ride list here.
Chessington World Of Adventures
Chessington World of Adventures Resort is a theme park, zoo and hotel complex all roled into one! There's loads of exciting new experiences to be had as one of the UK’s best-loved children’s characters arrives at the Resort, including the world’s first Gruffalo ride! With themed hotel rooms and fab deals over the summer holidays this one had to be on the list. See further information about the park here.
