I’m 34 and just about to become a mum for the first time, with a little girl due the day before I am due to start university in my first year. Can you tell that this little girl was not expected?
The biggest question I have had the past 7 months has been why don’t woman talk about the good, the bad, the ugly part of pregnancy and new-borns? This is something I want to know!
I have been thinking about this for a long time – I feel that all the movies I have seen, baby books, magazines all print pictures of woman glowing with perfect bumps and hair, smiling into the camera…. That is so not me. I wanted that SO badly but it hasn’t happened. I have asked friends and they agree but why did they never tell me warts and all about pregnancy?? Also, it’s hard to find out the real story about the first few weeks and months after birth; we want to see the poopy mess stories and what worked for people, what we needed to buy, what we wasted money on, how much do I need to spend, what worries and concerns are all normal. That’s what I wanted to find but it’s so rare to find because all you see is cooing babies and perfect woman!
