All in Love & Dirty Dishes
Do you ever have those little moments? The moments where you catch you breath. A few moments between the everyday hustle and bustle and juggle that is life. It can be hard to notice them when your attention is elsewhere. Work, feeding the kids, signing permission slips, doing the laundry, mentally writing seven different to-do lists. Then there’s answering every random question your kid throws at you, and being the keeper of all the knowledge, from where the Lego head with the frowny face is, to the names of all the paw patrol pups. But if you stop and look you will see the moments.
We have a sizeable collection of toy cars in our house. Between the age of 2 and 5 playing cars was the big one’s favourite thing to do. If he wasn’t playing cars, he was watching Cars. I have to say I was a little sad when Lego took over his affections for Lightening McQueen and the gang. I have nothing against Lego, it just seemed like the end of an era for toys he had loved for so long.
It happens to us all at some point. The days suddenly get a whole lot longer when your darling child decides that sleep is for the weak, and there is far too much mayhem to be caused to have a daytime nap.
No one warned me how noisy kids are. It’s like a daily assault on the ear drums that can leave me with a pounding headache. Of course the house feels weird and not right without all the noise now, so I guess I’m getting used to it!
This is part two of the A-Z of parenting noises heard on an almost daily basis.
